Summary:
Assist the Fort Novosel Site Manager in managing all aspects of the SafranHE logistics functions supporting the UH-72 Lakota light utility helicopter (LUH) fleet at Fort Novosel, AL, including data extraction and analysis, order fulfillment, inventory management, forecasting, replenishment, shipping, and receiving.
Responsible for the direct supervision and scheduling of Fort Novosel Logistics Specialists and prioritizes and assigns logistics tasks, as directed by Site Manager.

Responsibilities:
Prioritize and assign logistics tasks to support customer requirements with an emphasis on outstanding customer satisfaction Creates and amends Logistics Specialist schedules, including on-call assignments to meet customer support requirements Creates local logistics policies and procedures, with Site Manager approval Maintain proficiency in and perform logistics tasks assigned to Logistics Specialists Tracks and publishes logistics key performance indicators (KPI) to site manager, as required Receive, validate and fulfill customer parts request orders for the Fort Novosel Lakota fleet Extracts, analyzes, and reports logistics data, as requested by Site Manager Ensures Fort Novosel logistics processes support overall Lakota program efforts of SafranHE Issue, receive, and coordinate the repair of Government Property (GP) in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FARs) and company policies Establish and maintain Min/Max stock levels and recommend changes based on historical usage and forecasting Ensures the processing of inventory and picking procedures are accomplished accurately Create, update, and optimize bin locations for maximum efficiency (picking) and inventory control Ensure timely, accurate cycle counts are completed Establish and maintains appropriate files and records, as per company or local policy Ensures sales orders, repair sales orders, and transfer orders in SAP are completed correctly Ensures proper disposal of scrap parts Ensures the proper packaging of parts for storage or shipment; including Dangerous Goods (DG) Requires infrequent travel (less than 10%) Requires on-call duty Requires weekend work Complementary description Scopes and Accountabilities:
Accountable to the Fort Novosel Site Manager to maximize the impact of the logistics team and the timely, accurate completion of contractual goals and deliverables.
Establishes logistics processes and procedures, with Site Manager approval Develop new procedures, identify problems and recommend solutions to fulfill program objectives Assign and monitor work of subordinates, including training and coaching; conducting of ongoing performance planning and appraisal; hiring, transferring, promoting, or terminating employees; and recommending actions.
Supervise 2-3 direct employees.
Authority to conduct work with US government ITAR/EAR controlled information Authority to act with site manager approval Constant communication with SafranHE USA CSRs and Material Management team Produce, manage, control, and retain documents, as per appropriate polices Job requirements Required Competencies; Education / Knowledge / Skills and Abilities:
Associate's Degree or higher and/or 5 years of experience in logistics, supply chain or business management required Thorough knowledge of logistics and supply chain functions with an Associate's Degree in logistics, supply chain or business management and/or 7 years of logistics, supply chain, and/or business management experience desired; previous supervisor experience desired Extensive knowledge of SAP operations desired; Minimum of 1 year SAP experience desired Intermediate level experience with Microsoft Office suite required; to include MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint; Good keyboarding skills required; comprehensive knowledge of MS Excel desired Ability and desire to learn new software programs Able to work independently, with minimal guidance Current DOT HazMat (Hazardous Materials) Transportation Certification; or able to obtain Current Forklift certification; or able to obtain Strong written and oral communication skills FEDEX shipping station and software use Must be able to pass background investigation and obtain access to controlled, government facility Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand and walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
The employee is occasionally required to balance and stoop, kneel, or crouch.
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
The employee will frequently have to move items up to several hundred pounds utilizing appropriate warehouse support equipment.
The noise level in the work environment will vary from quiet to moderate.
